Get STEAMed: The How and Why of Adding STEAM to Your Library

Get STEAMed: The How and Why of Adding STEAM to Your Library In-Person

Incorporating STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Math) into libraries has gained momentum in recent years. We’ll explore why and how to add STEAM to your program; touching on areas such as collections, resources, and program ideas for all ages and any library type.

Attendees will understand scientific thinking in order to model it for their library community; discuss the importance of diversity inclusion in order to reach out and serve underrepresented community members; and apply specific program ideas and resources in order to utilize them at their library.

This workshop supports the current MLS Strategic Plan themes of Co-Creator Culture and Future Readiness by sharing local resources and providing networking opportunities. Content will encompass strategic themes of social justice, core MLS services, and strong MA library community.

Stay for the afternoon session, “Run with Scissors: Library Hacks and Creative Problem-Solving for You and Your Patrons” and bring a brown-bag lunch. Be sure to register separately for both sessions.
