SUMMARY:Inclusive Communication and Customer Service (ALA Webinar)
DESCRIPTION:The Massachusetts Library System is pleased to announce that we 
 have contracted with ALA to provide our members with access to their live 
 webinars.  These webinars are free to MLS members who register through our 
 calendar.  Please do not register directly with ALA. Members who register 
 directly with ALA are responsible for paying their registration fee.

 \n\n\nDescription\n\nThis event requires attendee participation on mic and 
 camera.\n\nThis is the second session in the Crash Course: Inclusive and 
 Accessible Library Experiences for People with Disabilities series\, which 
 is available for registration as a bundle.\n\n\n\nLearning Outcomes\n\nIn 
 this session\, the instructor will cover:\n\n\n	Strategies for 
 communication to support and connect with people with different types of 
 disabilities.\n	Strategies for inclusive and welcoming customer service and 
 direct interaction with people with disabilities.\n	Accessible marketing 
 and communication strategies.\n\n\nThe session will include breakout 
 discussions and reflections posing different scenarios and strategizing how 
 to address each example.\n\n\n\nPresenter\n\nLibrarian\, author\, trainer\, 
 administrator\, teacher\, and consultant Renee Grassi is an advocate for 
 equity\, diversity\, inclusion\, and accessibility in libraries\, schools\, 
 and communities. As a neurodivergent librarian herself\, Renee has worked 
 in public libraries for nearly twenty years\, developing award-winning 
 library initiatives that welcome and support disabled residents and their
