Making Great Video Tutorials: Best Practices and Practical Planning (ALA Webinar) Online

This webinar offers a practical, experience-based guide to creating effective video tutorials for libraries. Learn best practices for planning and production and explore instructional strategies for integrating video into your teaching—whether through flipped classroom models, library websites, or learning management systems. We’ll discuss video production workflows from scripting to publishing, emphasizing best practices like modular design for breaking down complex topics and closed captioning for accessibility and viewer flexibility.

Jason Puckett plans, supports, and implements online instruction for programs across all campuses. He provides expert research assistance, collection building, and library instruction for students, staff, and faculty in Anthropology. Jason also manages the library’s virtual services like chat reference and our knowledge base and teaches the Zotero bibliographic management tool.
