SUMMARY:Cataloging for Non-Catalogers (PCI Webinar)
DESCRIPTION:\n\nThe Massachusetts Library System is pleased to announce 
 that we have contracted with PCI Webinars to provide our members with 
 access to their live webinars.  These webinars are free to MLS members who 
 register through our calendar. Please do not register directly with PCI. 
 Members who register directly with PCI are responsible for paying their 
 registration fee. \n\nPlease help us keep MLS sponsored training free for 
 all members. If you are unable to attend the live webinar\, please cancel 
 your registration. A cancellation link can be found in your confirmation 
 email\, or you may contact Sarah Donnelly at sdonnelly@masslibsystem.org to 
 cancel. \n\nBecause we are working with an outside vendor\, it is important 
 that you cancel your registration in the event that you are unable to 
 attend the live webinar.  A recording of the webinar will be available on 
 the PCI Webinars Niche Academy website about a week after the live webinar.

 library\, knowledge of some basic cataloging will enhance and improve your 
 skills in library work. This will serve as a brief introduction to 
 cataloging for non-catalogers and will help you to understand cataloging's 
 purpose\, its goals\, and some of its terminology\, especially the changes 
 you may have been seeing with the implementation of RDA recently.\n\n 
 \n\nJoin catalogers Christopher Hill\, McKenna Leckrone and Jessica C. 
 Williams for an hour of focus on the catalog and bibliographic records. 
 MARC may seem intimidating\, but there are rules and guidelines that help 
 catalogers create bibliographic records that make it possible for you and 
 patrons to find the exact material you are looking for.\n\n\n\n\n\nLearning 
 Outcomes\n\n\n	The catalog from both staff and user view\n	Bibliographic 
 records\n	The ins and outs of MARC\n	Authority records\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWho 
 will benefit from this program\n\nAll staff that interacts with Patrons

 cataloging\n\nPresenters\n\nChristopher Hill ~ Biography\n\nChris Hill is a 
 Cataloging Librarian II with Greene County Public Library and has held this 
 position since December 2011. He has been cataloging library materials 
 since 2003 and has been working in libraries since 1996.  \n\n \n\nMcKenna 
 Leckrone ~ Biography\n\nMcKenna Leckrone is the Head Cataloger at the Avon 
 Lake Public Library near Cleveland\, Ohio. She has been working in 
 libraries for almost 20 years and began her career as a public library 
 page\, eventually working in circulation\, reference\, marketing\, 
 technology and IT\, and now cataloging.  \n\n \n\nJessica C. Williams ~ 
 Biography\n\nJessica C. Williams has been a cataloger at Cleveland Public 
 Library since 2023. Formerly Information Services Librarian at 
 Tiffin-Seneca Public Library\, she transitioned to Technical Services 
 Librarian-Cataloging at T-SPL in 2022. She started in libraries as a public
