SUMMARY:How to Teach Tech to Adults Who Swear They're "Bad at Technology"  (PCI Webinar)
DESCRIPTION:\n\nThe Massachusetts Library System is pleased to announce 
 that we have contracted with PCI Webinars to provide our members with 
 access to their live webinars.  These webinars are free to MLS members who 
 register through our calendar. Please do not register directly with PCI. 
 Members who register directly with PCI are responsible for paying their 
 registration fee. \n\nPlease help us keep MLS sponsored training free for 
 all members. If you are unable to attend the live webinar\, please cancel 
 your registration. A cancellation link can be found in your confirmation 
 email\, or you may contact Sarah Donnelly at sdonnelly@masslibsystem.org to

 technology classes convinced they’re “just bad at tech\,” making 
 confidence\, not skill\, the biggest barrier to learning. This hands-on 
 session shares simple teaching strategies\, supportive language\, and 
 practical demonstrations library staff can use immediately to reduce tech 
 anxiety and build trust. Attendees will leave with concrete tools for 
 helping hesitant learners gain confidence\, feel successful\, and keep 
 coming back for help. \n\n\n\n\n\nLearning Outcomes\n\nAs a result of this 
 program\, attendees will:\n\n\n	Apply simple\, proven teaching strategies 
 to reduce tech anxiety and build confidence in hesitant adult 
 learners\n	Use supportive\, approachable language that fosters trust and 
 encourages continued engagement\n	Implement practical\, hands-on techniques 
 that help learners experience quick wins and feel successful 
 immediately\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPresenter\n\nSteve Alcalde is Head of Computers 
 and Technology at Rogers Memorial Library in Southampton\, New York. With 
 over a decade in public libraries\, he specializes in technology services\, 
 digital literacy\, and innovative public access\, helping staff and patrons 
 confidently engage with emerging technologies.\n\nA frequent presenter at 
 local and national conferences\, Steve shares practical\, approachable 
 strategies on emerging tech\, makerspaces\, and library infrastructure\, 
 with a focus on building staff confidence and strengthening community
