Western MA Readers' Advisory Round Table In-Person

Advising readers on their next book is one of the most intimidating and exhilarating aspects of library work. Helping readers with their reading needs builds an ongoing and treasured relationship between library staff and their users. Readers’ Advisory (RA) is a skill that grows over time and with practice. This roundtable explores reading genres, their appeal for readers, and expands our knowledge and awareness of authors and titles in the genres.

This year we will discuss a Teen/YA arc, and wrap up with Narrative Nonfiction. And after last year's focus on diversity and inclusivity in our selections, we will continue to prioritize those in our reading and discussion! You are welcome to attend any or all of the sessions. Join our google group for discussion and notifications!

Genre: Teen/YA Relationships

Benchmarks: When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon
The Inexplicable Logic of My Life by Benjamin Alire Sáenz
