Basic Library Techniques: Administration (SELF-PACED ONLINE CLASS)
Welcome to the new Basic Library Techniques session in Administration. This course will be about three weeks of self-paced online modules combined with a one-day in-person session. The online class must be completed before attending an in-person session. Participants must register for and complete/attend both sessions to earn their certificate of completion.
Course outcomes:
- Navigate the organizations, structures, and resources in Massachusetts to gain familiarity with the various library stakeholders.
- Allocate funds, evaluate results, and lead advocacy efforts in order to successfully administer your library’s fiscal health.
- Apply best practices to recruiting, hiring, training, and evaluation in order to ensure legal compliance and promote customer service at your library.
- Assess your building to safeguard the physical space and people of your library.
After registration, participants will receive a separate email from Kelly Woodside, support@articulate.com with a login and initial password to the online class. The Administration class will go live on October 8. All work must be completed before attending the in-person session.
If you do not have your login information by October 8 please email Kristi Chadwick kristi@masslibsystem.org.
