Reading from the Ears Up: Reader/Listener Appeal of the Audio Book In-Person
Reader/listeners no longer have analog feelings about digital collections, particularly audio books. The demand for audio books is growing in libraries and bookstores. New genres and types of audio books are emerging and a new vocabulary to describe them is being coined. Learn how to work with listeners and help them find the next exciting title.
Kaite Mediatore Stover is the Director of Readers' Services for The Kansas City Public Library. She holds Masters degrees in Library Science and English Literature from Emporia State University. Stover is the co-editor of The Readers' Advisory Handbook (ALA Editions 2010) with Jessica E. She reviews fiction, audiobooks, and professional reading for Booklist and reviewed nonfiction for IndiePicks magazine.
