\n\n\nDescription\n\nWhen was the last time you (or your patrons) looked at
your library’s automated emails? System-generated messaging may be the
most frequently used and frequently overlooked method of patron
communication.\n\nThe Nevada State University Library collected interview
and survey feedback from over 500 patrons and uncovered a range of issues
with existing email templates related to library jargon\, email length\,
emotional impact\, and more. Drawing on data and best practices\, they
created an evidence-based email content guide to facilitate clear and
concise communication in a consistent library voice.\n\nIn this session\,
the instructors will outline how to improve the effectiveness of library
automated emails by making them clearer\, more emotionally intelligent\,
and consistent with library branding. You’ll learn strategies to fix
issues with existing email communication like confusing library jargon\,
overly long messages\, and a lack of emotional warmth.\n\n\n\nLearning
Outcomes\n\nThrough participation in this webinar\, participants will be
able to:\n\n\n	Understand the importance of reviewing and optimizing
automated email communications.\n	Recognize common issues in existing email
templates used by libraries.\n	Apply practical strategies for implementing
improvements and aligning email communications with their
 brand.\n\n\n\n\nPresenters\n\nAs a User Experience Librarian\, Lauren
Johnson designs and conducts holistic assessments of library resources and
services so the library can make evidence-based changes to better serve
Nevada State University's growing community. She holds a BA in English and

in Information Science from the University of Tennessee\, Knoxville.\n\nAs
