contact Sarah Donnelly at sdonnelly@masslibsystem.org to cancel.
\n\n\nDescription\n\nThe success of any project or plan relies on the work
of your staff. All too often\, library managers rely on employee assessment
that feels like nothing more than a pointless exercise in filling out forms
for both manager and employee. How can we manage library employee
performance without stress\, without unnecessary conflict\, without
busywork\, but with positive results?\n\nIn this webinar\, learn a simple
and widely tested approach to interacting with your employees that takes
some of the stress out of the process. Using the Situation-Behavior-Impact
(SBI) Model\, supervisors can speak with staff in a way that is direct\,
yet supportive\, while keeping the conversation on the topic at hand. SBI
can be used to address poor performance or acknowledge great work.\n\nThe
SBI Model is from Improve Talent Development With Our SBI Feedback Model by
the Center for Creative Leadership\, originally published in Feedback That
Works: How to Build and Deliver Your Message by Karen Kirkland and Sam
 Manoogian (1st edition\, 2000).\n\n\n\nLearning Outcomes\n\nAfter
participating in this webinar\, you will:\n\n\n	Be able to clearly identify
and articulate common problems with employee performance\n	Understand the
SBI Feedback model for coaching and counseling employees\n	Gain strategies
for working with your HR Department to apply this model\n	Understand how
FMLA\, ADA\, and other Fair Employment principles fit into this
model\n\n\n\n\nPresenter\n\nDoug Crane began his career with the Palm Beach
County Library System as a children’s librarian in 1998. He was appointed
Library Director in 2014 and has spoken at national conferences on topics
such as office productivity and leadership. Doug is the author of the
articles “May I Ask You a Question? Lessons Learned from Interviewing
Public Library Leaders”\; “Efficient Librarianship – A New Path for
the Profession”\; and “Go For It! Advice From Library Directors\,”
all published in Public Libraries magazine. In 2021\, Doug was honored as
the Florida Librarian of the Year by the Florida Library Association\,
where he previously served as President. He shares his musings at
 www.efficientlibrarian.com.\n\n\n\nAccessibility Information\n\nIf you have
