DESCRIPTION:The Massachusetts Library System is pleased to announce that we 
 have contracted with ALA to provide our members with access to their live 
 webinars.  These webinars are free to MLS members who register through our 
 calendar.  Please do not register directly with ALA. Members who register 
 directly with ALA are responsible for paying their registration fee.

 accessibility\, you should be. Web Accessibility is not just a trend—more 
 and more it is a legal requirement. In this webinar\, library website 
 expert Laura Solomon will take you through the principles of Web 
 Accessibility\, the library’s obligations around this issue\, and best 
 practices for implementing changes.\n\n\n\nLearning Outcomes\n\nBy 
 participating in this session\, you will:\n\n\n	Learn the fundamental 
 concepts of web accessibility\n	Understand the first steps you can take to 
 evaluate your site for accessibility issues\n	Learn about common 
 accessibility pitfalls\n	Learn changes that don’t require extensive 
 training or programming knowledge\n\n\n\n\nPresenter\n\nLaura Solomon\, 
 MCIW\, MLS is the Library Services Manager for the Ohio Public Library 
 Information Network and a W3C-certified front-end web developer.  She has 
 been doing web development and design for more than twenty years\, in both 
 public libraries and as an independent consultant. She specializes in 
 developing with Drupal. She is a 2010 Library Journal Mover & Shaker. 
 She’s written three books about social media and content marketing\, 
 specifically for libraries\, and speaks nationally on both these and 
 technology-related topics.  As a former children’s librarian\, she enjoys 
 bringing the “fun of technology” to audiences and in giving libraries 
 the tools they need to better serve the virtual
