The Northeastern Readers' Advisory Round Table: Strategy and Planning Meeting
On November 28, 2017, we will be having a Planning/Strategy meeting instead of our usual genre study discussion. We have a schedule through 2018, and it is time to discuss what we need from this group individually and collectively. Please come to this meeting whether you are a founding member, longtime or sometime attendee, or brand-new participant. Help us shape the future of our RA studies. We will be meeting at Methuen’s Nevins Memorial Library from 10:00am to 12Noon. See our Blog for the assignments.
The RA exercise was explained at the September 26th meeting in Reading. However, if you wish to attend and participate in the exercise or just participate in the exercise (if you cannot attend the November meeting) with a partner--contact Leane (ellis@noblenet.org) for information.
Please join us!
Meeting every other month, the NE RA RT reads from one genre--and then discusses the appeal of that genre with each other emphasizing the building of a skill set of appeal categories and familiarity of genre particulars. They cover a different genre every meeting, allowing each of the participants to be introduced to the discipline of reading for appeal, as well as an initiation to broad genre categories. Everyone participating will be able to share analysis of titles and authors in unfamiliar genres that will stretch their capacity as readers' advisors. The discussion leaders are Leane Ellis (ellis@noblenet.org) and Nanci Milone Hill (nhill@mvlc.org).
