Strategy Storytelling as Marketing

Strategy Storytelling as Marketing

Libraries are masters of stories, but are we as good as we could be at telling our own story? We already know that people respond enthusiastically to stories, much more so than stats, numbers, or dry facts. Marketing is just a form of storytelling. Learn to share messages that matter and the stories that will resonate with your community. What are the core stories your library should be telling in its marketing? When you know what stories to focus on, it makes it easier to create compelling copy and messages. This CE opportunity supports the current MLS Strategic Plan, specifically the goal of increasing members’ capacity for marketing.

Learning Outcomes:

• Identify an emotion you want to invoke in your library’s audience with 1 particular piece of marketing.
• Identify who is the “hero” in one of the library’s stories.
• Select one common story type or idea for your library to craft a marketing message and visual around this month.

This webinar is presented by Jennifer Burke of IntelliCraft Research. This webinar will be recorded.
