See Your Library Through Your Patron’s Eyes (PCI Webinar)

See Your Library Through Your Patron’s Eyes (PCI Webinar) Online

The Massachusetts Library System is pleased to announce that we have contracted with PCI Webinars to provide our members with access to their live webinars.  These webinars are free to MLS members who register through our calendar.  Because we are working with an outside vendor, it is important that you cancel your registration in the event that you are unable to attend the live webinar.  A recording of the webinar will be available on the PCI Webinars Niche Academy website about a week after the live webinar.  If you have any issues registering or signing into the PCI Webinars Niche Academy website, please let us know.  Please do not contact PCI Webinars or Niche Academy directly about their live webinars or webinar recordings.

The Library Land Project looks at public libraries from the patron's perspective. Since 2018, its founders have visited more than 400 public libraries across America.

This session will focus on the approach, experiences, and observations from the point of view of a user walking through the door for the first time.

Ats a result of this program, attendees will:

  • Be introduced to a framework to evaluate their library from the patron perspective
  • Understand how this approach can be used in different scenarios
  • Be provided with real-world examples of great (and not so great) practices from library visits across the country

Greg Peverill-Conti & Adam Zand ~ Biography

Greg Peverill-Conti and Adam Zand are the co-founders of the Library Land Project, a nonprofit whose mission is to explore, document, and promote the essential role of public libraries in our communities. The pair rediscovered their love of libraries when they needed "office space" as they started their PR agency, SharpOrange. Since then, libraries have become an increasingly important aspect of their lives. They have spoken on library topics in the media and at conferences across the United States.

Greg is a substitute reference librarian in Framingham, Mass. He is a trustee at Medway Public Library. He received his MLIS from the University of Alabama. Adam is on the building committee for the Thayer Memorial Library in Lancaster, Mass. Adam has an MBA from Northeastern University.
