Emotional Intelligence: Understanding Your and Others’ Emotions for Self-Awareness, Empathy, and Guidance (LibraryWorks Webinar)

Emotional Intelligence: Understanding Your and Others’ Emotions for Self-Awareness, Empathy, and Guidance (LibraryWorks Webinar) Online

The Massachusetts Library System is pleased to announce that we are working with LibraryWorks to provide our members with access to their webinars.  These webinars are free to Massachusetts library workers who register through our calendar.

Emotional intelligence (EI) is the ability to be aware of, handle, and express your emotions as well as be empathetic and fair in relationships, with a deeper understanding of others’ emotions. One research study has suggested less than 40% of the population is emotionally intelligent. Being emotionally intelligent effects every facet of life, from success in your job to personal relationships. EI, not IQ, is often the factor that sets you apart in your job and makes you more successful. Learn to apply EI holistically and practically.

From this webinar, you will:

  • Define emotional intelligence and the skills needed for enhancement.
  • Identify myths such as controlling vs. regulating your emotions, and how emotions impact your decisions and reactions.
  • Discover ways to be more self-aware, manage yourself and relationships, empathize, motivate, and cope with challenges.
  • Practically apply emotional intelligence in your work and life.
