Leadership Styles: Understanding and Utilizing Democratic Leadership Online

Democratic Leadership is a management and leadership approach that involves inclusivity and shared decision-making. Democratic Leadership actively seeks input and opinions from team members, values contributions, and fosters collaboration. This workshop will help you understand Democratic Leadership, as well as highlight its characteristics and applications in different library types.

As a result of this workshop, participants will be able to:

1.  Identify at least three key characteristics of Democratic Leadership that resonate with their personal leadership approach.
2.  Develop an actionable plan integrating at least three Democratic Leadership practices into their own leadership style.
3.  Identify and plan to implement at least one DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) strategy in alignment with Democratic Leadership principles.


How will I be participating?

During this live virtual workshop, expect frequent, active participation for maximum impact!

Collaborate with peers through the use of breakout rooms and other digital tools. Microphones and cameras are essential for full participation. Please note, sessions will not be recorded.
