Crisis Prevention Institute Verbal Intervention Training In-Person
The Crisis Prevention Institute's Verbal Intervention training teaches you how to confidently manage difficult situations, improving the culture of safety in your library. During this in-person workshop, we will practice concrete skills to identify and respond to challenging behaviors with understanding and a trauma-informed, person-centered approach.
As a result of this workshop, participants will be able to:
1.  Use the CPI Crisis Development Model to assess behaviors in various crisis stages and apply appropriate de-escalation strategies.
2.  Identify factors influencing a person’s behavior and maintain professionalism in the face of escalating behavior.
3.  Use communication skills including speech, tone of voice, and body language in a supportive manner.
