Decoding Decodables Online
With literacy instruction and the “reading wars” in the news, more and more parents are looking for resources to support their children in learning to read. Phonics-based decodable readers are part of this process, and the Goodnow Library (Sudbury) recently debuted their “Roadmap to Reading” collection of decodable readers. Join literacy interventionist Sarah Thompson and librarians, Amy Stimac and Olivia Sederlund, to learn all about this new collection. This panel discussion will demystify decodables, share the impetus for the collection, explain how materials were selected and cataloged, and discuss the community’s response.
This webinar will present practical information for youth services and technical services staff with time for questions. It will be recorded.
