Description

Transforming Senior Services and Outreach

The pandemic has exacerbated the challenge of reaching out to seniors, with seniors both at higher risk for the pandemic and less likely to use online services.

This workshop covers innovations and best practices for library senior services that have emerged in the face of the pandemic. Attendees will learn ways to adapt outreach services through technology and how to adjust pre-pandemic programming to a time of restricted access and less personal contact. The workshop also presents innovative examples of completely new programming created during the pandemic.

Learning Outcomes

By participating in this event, attendees will:

  • Learn about the state of library outreach services to older adults in the time of COVID-19
  • Discover ways that technology may be used for remote senior outreach
  • Analyze case studies of adaptations to existing programs for virtual presentation
  • Learn from examples of new and innovative library programs for older adults
