Description:
Libraries serve as the heart of their communities. Traditionally, libraries support the public as educators and as a resource. However, current trends suggest an ever-expanding array of expectations for libraries, placing significant pressure on the humans that run them. Unspoken expectations often charge libraries with being glorified security guards, babysitters, social workers, and frontline staff. Burnout is inevitable if you don’t develop strategies that help cope with undue stress. Discover ways to become more resilient and refocus your role. Learn how to set boundaries and focus on the qualities that made you come into the profession and hopefully stay.
From this webinar, you will learn:
- How to set boundaries with your community and colleagues
- Recognizing and effectively communicating the support required from administrators
- Developing practical strategies for reducing stress
- Learn to prioritize and shift your perspective
