Readers' Advisory Basics

Readers' Advisory Basics Online

Description

Readers’ advisory is more than recommending popular books. This workshop will show how readers' advisory connects to reference work. Participants will learn important terms, helpful tools, and ways to adjust the reference interview. By the end, they will understand readers' advisory basics, boosting staff confidence and improving patron service.

Learning Outcomes

As a result of this workshop, participants will be able to:
1.    Identify the key terms of readers’ advisory.
2.    Use reader's advisory concepts to describe a popular work.
