In March and May, we start the Spring with a discussion of the appeal/import of technology.  What is its appeal? How does it, how will it, affect our lives? Our benchmark for March is Internet for the People: the fight for our digital future by Ben Tarnoff. Tarnoff provides an accessible narrative history of how dominant internet providers evolved and the need to deprivatize them for the good of users.  We will also be looking at readalikes if the book is unavailable due to demand.  In addition to reading the benchmark, pick a second title relating to the topic as your personal choice.  We expect an active discussion of the benefits and dangers of the technology present and evolving.  Join us online to share your choices and concerns and hear those of colleagues. 

We meet bimonthly via Zoom to explore various genres and readers advisory skills and how to use them to meet the needs of our users.  In alternate months, in our Chat sessions, we share what we have been reading/watching/listening to and discover new titles, authors, and topics to enjoy.

On May 7, our benchmark is the techno-thriller These Fragile Graces, This Fugitive Heart by Izzy Wasserstein.
