Let’s Play! Engaging Programs for Babies Beyond Storytime (ALA Webinar) Online
The Massachusetts Library System is pleased to announce that we have contracted with ALA to provide our members with access to their live webinars. These webinars are free to MLS members who register through our calendar. Please do not register directly with ALA. Members who register directly with ALA are responsible for paying their registration fee.

Description
Unsure of how to engage your littlest patrons with more than storytime? Expand your programming repertoire with out-of-the-box, easy to implement play programs! From Baby Prom to beach parties, we’ll talk about what makes a program appropriate for babies and share some of our favorite ideas to inspire you.
Learning Outcomes
By attending this event, participants will:
- Identify what makes a program developmentally appropriate for babies.
- Understand the importance of programming for babies.
- Walk away with a list of feasible ideas to replicate at their library.
Presenters
Kim Alberts (she/her) is an Early Childhood/Intermediate Librarian in Ohio with over 15 years of experience presenting programming for youth ages birth to 18. Kim has also put her love of staying on the pulse of librarianship through serving on committees such as the 2017 Newbery Committee and several ALSC process committees. She is currently a member of the 2026 Caldecott Committee. You can find examples of her work over on Instagram @libraryladyk.
Anne-Marie Savoie is a children’s librarian with over twenty years of experience who specializes in creating engaging programs for young audiences. With a background as a professional ballerina and a Kindermusik teacher, she loves to think creatively and provide memorable adventures at the library!
