How to Create and Manage an Expert Online Presence (ALA Webinar) Online
The Massachusetts Library System is pleased to announce that we have contracted with ALA to provide our members with access to their live webinars. These webinars are free to MLS members who register through our calendar. Please do not register directly with ALA. It is more important than ever to have an impressive online presence. Librarians with an established presence and personal brand are the ones who get noticed and get hired. This hands-on webinar will walk you through how to create your own personal brand development plan; establish your online persona; manage your online reputation; and set up a professional landing page, blog, and stand-out online resume. You will learn strategies to build an audience, establish yourself as an authority, and become a rock star in the field.
Learning Outcomes
By participating in this webinar, participants will:
- Gain an understanding of how to raise their visibility in the LIS field.
- Understand how to tailor a complete plan for developing an online brand presence to their needs.
- Walk away with three customizable worksheets which will guide them through developing their goals, a professional bio, and a brand development strategy to meet their personal goals.
Presenter
Ellyssa Valenti Kroski is the Director of Innovation & Engagement at the New York Law Institute as well as an award-winning editor and author of 77 books, including Law Librarianship in the Age of AI, for which she won the AALL's 2020 Joseph L. Andrews Legal Literature Award. She is a librarian, an adjunct faculty member at San Jose State University, and an international conference speaker.
