Massachusetts Libraries Partner with Climate Preparedness Week (Webinar) In-Person

Host a Climate Change Event and Put Your Library on the Map!

Massachusetts librarians are invited to partner with Communities Responding to Extreme Weather (CREW) to host climate change events across the state as part of Climate Preparedness Week (September 24th - 30th, 2019). The webinar will begin with background on Climate Preparedness Week, followed by examples of resilience-building events you can host in your library.  The goal of this program is to build community resilience and create a safety net in advance of extreme weather events.  With an emphasis on World Café, other types of events will also be presented (e.g. environmental justice workshops, maker spaces, mindfulness practices, book talks, film screenings, reflective writing, and interactive displays). There will be time to brainstorm ideas and ways to find local collaborators…the possibilities are limitless. All types of librarians (public, academic, school, archives, special) are invited to attend.

*Participating libraries will be represented on an interactive map on CREW’s website.
