Reference Field Trip: New England Historic Genealogical Society In-Person

Reference librarians need to be thoroughly familiar with the reference tools at their disposal, in order to most appropriately and efficiently connect patrons with information and services. To that end, and at the request of MLS Reference learners, we introduce Reference Field Trips, as series of guided, on-site explorations of services and information producers within the Commonwealth.

This June join us at the New England Historic Genealogical Society, the nation’s leading comprehensive resource for family history research and the largest Society of its kind in the world. Through scholarship, research, education, and content, NEHGS is a wealth of family history information, in easy reach.

Attendance is limited. Locations are chosen based on potential interest and enrichment of Reference providers. Tours will be focused on Reference relevant services. MLS will not provide transportation.

Please note this is an R&D project to assess feasibility of the educational model.
