MetroWest Readers' Advisory Roundtable In-Person
**Please note: We are moving this discussion online! If you CAN read the benchmark or a second title, please do. We'll be talking about this subgenre, and then I expect our conversation will veer off into looking at RA in digital world in general. Please email Pam at paghababian@minlib.net for the Zoom meeting details.**
MetroWest Readers' Advisory Round Table reads Graphic Novels: Fiction!
Benchmark: Trinity by Jonathan Fetter-Vorm
Please pick a second title to discuss. There are suggestions on our website.
Be prepared to discuss appeal factors for those titles and the subgenre as a whole. Appeal factors to watch out for:
Language (descriptive, lyrical, blunt, etc), Visual Language (stylized, life-like, color/b&w, etc), Character (flawed, quirky, unreliable, etc), Storyline/Plot (action-driven, character-driven, etc), Pace (fast-paced, leisurely, uneven, etc), Tone/Mood (bleak, funny, gritty, heartwarming, etc), Frame/Setting (urban, rural, time frame, world building, etc)
If you have any questions, please visit our website or contact Pam Aghababian (paghababian@minlib.net) or Christine Muir (cmuir@minlib.net). And please join our Google Group to stay up to date with discussions, meeting schedules, and news!
