Rescheduled! King Arthur ... But in Space! Mixing Genres and Tropes in Teen and Tween Titles

Rescheduled! King Arthur ... But in Space! Mixing Genres and Tropes in Teen and Tween Titles In-Person

Due to expected inclement weather this event has been rescheduled from 12/3 to 12/19. Start time remains the same at 10:00 AM.

Tweens and teens love a good story (especially if their friends recommend it enthusiastically), and more and more readers don’t care what genre it is. They just want to be reassured that they’ll love it. Diverse characters, tropes, and inventive language can mix together to create a rollicking high seas adventure that just happens to be interstellar, or an exploration of environmental impact that is a surprising comedy. Tween Librarian Abbey Stephens and Teen Librarian Robin Brenner, both at Brookline Public Library, will highlight some of the best titles for tweens (grades 5-7) and teens (grades 8-12) that mix and mash-up genres including legends reimagined in space, heist stories set in fantastical worlds, and hard-boiled mysteries set today.

If you're interested, but unable to attend the live webinar, go ahead and register to receive a recording after the event.
