Media Mentorship part 1: Research In-Person

Incorporating the latest research, we will define media mentorship and provide tools and strategies for supporting families with young children. Topics will include early literacy & language development, family engagement, and the digital divide.

In part 1 we will focus on the research regarding digital media and explore various policy statements and recommendations.

Learning Outcomes: Understand the role of a media mentor; Review ALSC White Paper on Media Mentorship in Libraries; Summarize recent research regarding digital media and young children; Analyze types of screen time.
