(Note: This is a Virtual Meeting sponsored by the Tewksbury Public Library. Members will recieve a link to sign-up via our Google Group, anyone else who is interested should email Leane at rapotential@gmail.com)

We conclude our 2021 three-meeting study arc of Fantasy Fiction with Genre Blends**.  Our first study in January was on Fairy Tales & Myths, followed by Paranormal Suspense in March.

Assignment:  Everyone reads either/or both of the benchmarks: Genevieve Cogman’s The Invisible Library: series#1 (2016) AND/OR Daniel José Older’s Shadowshaper: Shadowshaper Cypher#1 (2015)

**Please note that many Fantasy Genre Blend titles may also be considered Urban Fantasy, New Weird, Slipstream, or Paranormal Suspense.  Please record your Choice titles in this category either from the suggested list on the other side or one that you choose yourself on our blog under Submit Choice Titles. NE RA RT BLOG.

For appeal, please focus especially on frame, tone and character.

Meeting every other month, the NE RA RT reads from one genre--and then discusses the appeal of that genre with each other emphasizing the building of a skill set of appeal categories and familiarity of genre particulars. They cover a different genre every meeting, allowing each of the participants to be introduced to the discipline of reading for appeal, as well as an initiation to broad genre categories. Everyone participating will be able to share analysis of titles and authors in unfamiliar genres that will stretch their capacity as readers' advisors. The discussion leader is Leane Ellis (rapotential@gmail.com).
