Anti-Racist Leadership

As more people recognize the need for deep structural changes to address institutional racism in organizations, leaders will benefit by further developing their skills to serve as role models and ambassadors for this work. In this workshop we will explore ten qualities of anti-racist leadership and strategies for further developing culturally responsive leadership practices. Participants are invited to reflect on their strengths and areas for growth and bring challenges they have encountered to discuss in small and large groups.

Intended Audience: While this workshop is designed for managers and supervisors, staff from any level or position are welcome to attend.

 

About the Instructor: Caprice Hollins, Psy.D. is co-founder of Cultures Connecting. She received a B.A. in psychology from Seattle University and M.A. and Psy.D. degrees in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Multicultural and Community Psychology from California School of Professional Psychology―LA. She became licensed in Washington State in 2000 and has over 20 years of experience studying and working with ethnically diverse populations. Her experience includes opening and Directing the Department of Equity & Race Relations for Seattle Public Schools. Dr. Hollins spent 20 years at the Seattle School of Theology & Psychology where she was an Affiliate Professor in the Counseling Department. She is the co-author, with Ilsa Govan, of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Strategies for Facilitating Conversations on Race
