HR Series: Recruiting a Diverse Workforce

HR Series: Recruiting a Diverse Workforce Online

Workshop Description

It’s no secret to those of us living in predominantly White communities that there are multiple challenges to recruiting a diverse workforce. However, that doesn’t mean that there are not People of Color available and who are qualified for the job. One common barrier faced is how to increase our applicant pool of color. That must start with creating a culture of inclusion and belonging where People of Color want to work because they are not asked to assimilate to be successful.

Learning Objectives

Participants will…

  1. Critically reflect on steps they’ve taken to create a culture of inclusion and belonging.
  2. Learn effective language for creating a culturally responsive job description.
  3. Develop and share strategies for advertising in Communities of Color.

Intended Audience: This workshop is intended for current managers and supervisors.

Please note, these workshops are intended to be informational only and are for staff currently in management or supervisory roles.  If you have specific HR questions, please talk with your organization or municipality’s human resources department.
