Readers' Advisory Roundtable - West, Genre Study - Talking Animal Stories

Readers' Advisory Roundtable - West, Genre Study - Talking Animal Stories In-Person

Join us for our Reader’s Advisory Round Table of Western MA genre study of talking animal stories. Our April benchmark is Jennifer Chow's Mimi Lee Gets a Clue

The Reader's Advisory (RA) Round Table of Western MA (RART-W) meets monthly via Jitsi (a free online meeting platform) on the first or second Tuesday of the month at 10 am. We explore genres and subgenres that we select as a group in advance. Sessions are led by members, and discussions include the characteristics of a particular genre, the readers who will enjoy it, and ways to connect those readers with it.

We select a benchmark title within the genre for discussion, and each of us may read a second title from the genre. We also like to find ways to connect patrons with movies, music, television shows, podcasts, and other media related to the genre. You're not required to read the book(s) or know the topic--RA skills are enhanced by discussion as well as reading! We hope to see you there!

Remaining 2023 meeting dates: May 2, June 6, July 11, August 1, September 12, October 2, November 14, December 5

In months without a specific genre study, we share what we are reading/viewing/listening to in our book chat discussions.   Join us for conversation, edification, and an opportunity to share reading/viewing/listening opportunities.
