Readers' Advisory Roundtable - West, Genre Study - Paranormal Suspense

Readers' Advisory Roundtable - West, Genre Study - Paranormal Suspense In-Person

Join us for our Reader’s Advisory Round Table of Western MA genre study of paranormal suspense.  Our benchmark is Shutter by Ramona Emerson, a story of a forensic photographer who sees the ghosts of crime victims.  We meet bimonthly to explore various genres and how to use them to meet the reading needs of our users. We meet via jitsi to talk about the appeal of a particular genre, the readers who may enjoy that genre, and ways to incorporate materials in the genre into our readers’ advisory services.  We select a benchmark title that we all read, then each of us reads a second of the genre as our personal selection.  We discuss and compare the titles and their characteristics. We also find items of alternate media in the same general area using our whole collections as a resource.

In the between months, we share what we are reading/viewing/listening to in our book chat discussions.   Join us for conversation, edification, and an opportunity to share reading/viewing/listening opportunities.
